In 2015, Visit Escanaba hired the International Mountain Bicycling Association to complete a feasibility study and develop a concept for adding singletrack trails at Days River Pathway. Although the idea had been discussed for years, the complexity of the property’s management caused the project to be tabled. Bringing singletrack to Days River later became a major factor in the formation of Delta County Nonmotorized Trails in 2018. Working in cooperation with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and a dedicated group of volunteers, DCNT mapped, developed, and installed approximately three miles of singletrack trail, expanding recreational opportunities at one of Delta County’s most popular trail systems.
